Step 1. Select a file
In the Media Recognition page, click 'Choose File' and select a file you want to be recognized, or drag & drop it in the upload form.
Supported video formats: .mp4 .avi .mkv .wmv .flv .mov .webm .3gp .3g2.
Supported audio formats: .mp3 .aac .wav .flac .ogg .wma .amr .m4a.

Step 2. Click on Recognize
Once you choose a file click on 'Recognize' to start the recognition proccess.

Step 3. Get recognition results
Get recognition results, like the song's title, artist(s) name(s), it's Shazam & Youtube links, as well as related and similar songs to it.
What to do if no results are found?
While no recognition app is perfect at detecting all songs in the world accurately, you can still take extra steps to enhance your chances of getting a recognition result with Musik Erkennung:
- Make sure the songs appear in the first 10 seconds on your video/audio file: while you can upload long video and audio files, Musik Erkennung only tries to recognize the first 10 seconds of every file. If Musik Erkennung grows large enough, we will introduce the ability to recognize files of all lengths, and multiple songs in each file.
- Make sure the song is clear: While Musik Erkennung does a great job at recognizing music even at bad qualities, songs that have a voice over them, like someone speaking during it, are less likely to be recognized.
Links recognition

Step 1. Copy the Link
Head to the social media post or audio/video file online you want to recgnize and copy their link, this can be a link of a Facebook video/reel, Instagram video/reel, Youtube video/short, Tiktok video, X/Twitter video, or a link to a direct video or audio file (max file size 20 MB).

Step 2. Paste the Link
On the link recognition page, paste your link in the dedicated input field and click on 'Recognize' to start the recognition proccess.
If you paste a YouTube link, a time input will appear, and you can choose which part of your video you want to recognize (if no time is entered, the default starting point is 00:00:00). -
Step 3. Get recognition results
Get recognition results, like the song's title, artist(s) name(s), it's Shazam & Youtube links, as well as related and similar songs to it.
